Our client, a leading recycler in the Northeast, has been in business for over 20 years. As a family-owned and operated company, they foster a tight-knit work environment where collaboration and growth are paramount. They're now looking for a motivated Inside Sales Representative to support their expanding operations!

Job Description: 
As an Inside Sales Representative, you'll be at the heart of our commercial operations, playing a crucial role in sourcing and purchasing scrap metals. This isn't just a sales job, it's about building strong relationships and becoming an expert in the dynamic world of metal recycling. 
What you'll do: 

  • Source & Negotiate: You'll be the voice of the company, actively reaching out to a diverse range of businesses, from industrial manufacturers and construction sites to scrap dealers and municipalities, to purchase scrap metal. You'll also leverage your market savvy to communicate prices, negotiate deals based on weight, volume, and freight rates, and understand profit margins for profitable purchasing.
  • Manage the Full Cycle: You'll oversee the entire purchasing process, from initial contact and negotiation to coordinating material movement, ensuring quality control, and finalizing settlements. This involves seamless collaboration with our commercial operations, administrative, and logistics teams.
  • Ensure Compliance & Quality: You'll uphold the commitment to environmental health and safety regulations, making sure all scrap acceptance aligns with high standards. You'll also continuously learn about different metal types (like aluminum vs. stainless steel, or copper vs. brass) and their processing to ensure quality.

Training: 
Their comprehensive training program will equip you with all the knowledge and skills you need. During this immersive period, you'll:

  • Learn the Business: Dive deep into the ins and outs of the scrap metal industry.
  • Gain Hands-On Experience: Start making cold calls and go on field rides with experienced buyers.
  • Become a Metal Expert: Shadow our yard team, observe scrap materials, work with inspectors, and develop a deep understanding of metal types, grading, processing, and machinery.


Requirements: 
You're an outgoing and ambitious individual with 1-5 years of inside sales, business development, or customer service experience (or a strong desire to learn!). You're comfortable communicating with people at all levels and possess a positive, professional demeanor.

  • A self-starter who can hit the ground running.
  • Ability to engage with potential customers and customize your sales approach to win their confidence and business.
  • An upbeat, positive, and outgoing personality with the ability and desire to learn the scrap metal/recycling business.

Location: This is an inside sales role where candidates will report to an office in the Greater Fall River, MA Area. This is an industrial facility / scrap yard and candidates must be comfortable with the working environment.

Base Salary: $50,000 - $60,000 
Total Comp: $75,000 - $100,000
